My thoughts: I'm going to be completely honest - when this book first arrived, I felt a little triggered by the cover and title. Having 'HEAL' yelled at you when you are dealing with chronic illness and not even sure 'healing' is an option is kind of overwhelming. I admit, I took a day or so just hiding this book a bit until I was feeling a little more capable of opening it up.

But once I did, I found this to be a lovely, gentle book, filled with beautiful photography and wonderful suggestions - leaving me with an overall feeling of hope and calm. Evans has such a zest for life and love for trying new things, as well as a deep-seated belief in the importance of nourishing the body, mind, and soul. This book is an absolutely joy to read through - and read through it I did, from front to back, in the space of about a day. I then went back through afterwards and tabbed all of the ideas that I particularly vibed with (and now my copy is just littered with tabs), so that I could come back to them later, or randomly open the book to one of them and just give it a go at times when I am feeling a little lost and lacklustre.

I will say that many of them I already practice, or knew about and just needed to get back to, but there were still several I hadn't really thought about. And Evans includes interesting information about each topic, including studies to support the value of practicing certain behaviours, which I found really fascinating. This is a lovely little book, and I hope to pick it up regularly to remind me to look after myself a little better.

{I received a review copy of this from Pan Macmillan/Plum in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!!}

A couple of favourite suggestions: Hydrate, hydrate!; Get out in the garden; Support your body clock; Share a pot of tea.

You would like this book if: You enjoy Pete Evans' other work; you like books with healing ideas that are delivered in bite-sized pieces.

Tea to drink while reading this book: Something herbal, I think. Nice and soothing.

Rating:  8/10
